A Checklist to Choose Your Dry Cleaner Wisely

You spend your hard-earned money on clothing, and the more expensive or precious the garment, the more important it is to ensure you have chosen the highest quality dry cleaner to care for it. It’s true that not all dry cleaners are the same. To help you distinguish a good dry cleaner from a less respectable one, we have provided you with a quick checklist of questions to ask:

Does the dry cleaner identify you by your name or your telephone number?

A dry cleaner that is customer service-focused will be able to access your information by your name, not just your number.

Does the dry cleaner offer to reclean any garments with which you are not completely satisfied?

If you are ever unsatisfied with 1-800-DryClean’s workmanship, we will reprocess your garment free of charge.

Are you required to pay up front before the dry cleaner handles your clothes?

At 1-800-DryClean, we make sure that you are satisfied with our services before charging for them.

Does the dry cleaner charge “one low price” for all items?

Generally, a “one low price” offer is indicative of a deep discount cleaner. Discount dry cleaners often cut corners in order to keep their costs down. Be sure to thoroughly review the company’s lost/damaged garment policy prior to trusting them with your clothing. Also, make sure that you are thoroughly aware of your rights and their responsibilities, as stated in the cleaner’s materials. You are likely taking a greater risk with your clothing by using a deep discount service.

Are there different price lists for women's clothing?

Traditionally, dry cleaners have charged more to clean women’s garments than men’s. 1-800-DryClean has one price list for men’s and ladies’ dry cleaned items. However, we can’t always charge the same price for laundered shirts. Since women’s shirts tend to be more tailored and/or detailed, the majority of ladies’ cotton shirts will not fit on the automated laundry presses and need to be hand finished. This is the reason for the slight price increase, which is worth the extra care for your garment.

Does the cleaner provide free pick up & delivery?

Many drycleaners do not offer pick and delivery, even at a cost. Some advertise free pick and delivery, but you must meet specific requirements, such as a $30 minimum order, to receive complimentary delivery service.

With 1-800-DryClean you are on a route with other customers in your neighborhood or office area, so we can offer free dry cleaning delivery with no minimum order required.
